Ponzi Structure

2013

The title Ponzi Structure is a reference to illusion and failure.  Using familiar symbols of construction, stability and quality (wood, bricks and gold) to create moments of structural and visual continuity.  These structures serve no immediate purpose other than to support connected elements and the imply an illusion of stability.

Stacks

2010-2013

An ongoing project involving the simple practice of stacking objects of similar shape and material. Inspired by practical and monumental stacking techniques of human history: pyramids, log piles.  And piles in contemporary life; furniture or trash on the curb.  The formations of the stacks are ultimately dictated by the qualities of components that are assembled to create the final form.  I am interested in this process as a way of understanding accumulative results and representation of construction.

This series is created using Intaglio, screen print, relief and collage

paper size varies from 22x30 to 29x41 inches.
